This photo appears to show the driver of a "Munga".

Note the white observer band tied around his M43 style cap.

In this shot of the Munga we see two German officers with an American armor officer standing off to the right. He is wearing a U.S. Army Europe (USAREUR) patch. All three officers wear white observer's bands on their headgear.

At some point, a Sanitater walked past the Munga.

This photo is labeled "KVV Sept 62". Does this ring a bell with anyone?

This photo would appear to depict a ceremony of some sort.

It's looks as though the ceremony is being held on the third baseline of a baseball diamond.

Perhaps this was a dual use kaserne?

The photo is labeled "Okt 62."

Of course, following every ceremony there is a party...

Major Suhr can be seen second from the left.

Now we'll jump six years into the future, March, 1968.

Suhr has been promoted to Oberstleutnant and his once black hair has gone gray.

This photo is I.D. sized. The next few will be portrait sized.

Any guesses on his branch based on the light background of his collar litzen?

                  Pink or yellow?

This is the first of two photos depicting what appears to be a command visit or inspection.

Suhr is seen second from the left. The patches appear to be those of the 1.Panzergrenadierdivision.

Based on the vehicles, it would appear as though the unit in question is the fifth company (120mm mortar) of a panzer or panzergrenadier battalion.

Note the M113Gs, stacked mortar rounds, and the five ton "Emma" in the background.
