Today I got two very nice pictures from US.
It tooks nearly two month to Germany but it was worth to wait!
Many thanks TJ for your present, I am very thankful!!!

When I got it I first scaned it on my computer and I saw something that I didn't nothiced before, the name plate on the table.
Now I am 100% sure that it is Wilhelm Meyn.

I want to show you my 57er mini medal bar, which belongs to Meyn.

      Regards,
      Matthias.

        Matthias,

I am sorry the pictures took so long to get back "home" to the BRD.

My compliments on a wonderful grouping!

        Glueckwunsch!

        All the best,
        TJ

          Hi,

no comment on the third man, Generalleutnant Martin Harlinghausen?

The picture must be from the 12. December 1961, the official commisioning of the Jagdbombergeschwader 36 (later Jagdgeschwader 72 "Westfalen") on the Fliegerhorst Hopsten.

At that time Kammhuber was "Inspekteur der Luftwaffe", Harlinghausen was "Befehlshaber der Luftwaffengruppe Nord".
Meyn was the Kommodore of the JaboG 36 since March 1961, since September 1961 he was Oberstleutnant (LTC).

          Uwe

              Hi spanner57,

I never heard of a Helmut Haugk in the Bundeswehr, especially not as three star General in the Luftwaffe.

This is getting more and more intersting.
                Many thanks for your inputs.

Uwe, after comparing Harlinghausen with pictures over the years, I am pretty sure that you have identified him. I was a high decorated soldier.

                Everything fits perfect.
Now we have the exact day of capture, very interesting what is possible!
