What's this cap then?

Hey,

Bought this from a German dealer at war and peace this year, loved the shape of it and it was cheap, but neither he nor I know what it is.

Any help folks?

Its a visor cap from the west German custom.

...and yes, with the metal embroided insignia it looks very good... better then modern polive hats with simple pressed metal insignia.

Nice find!! The condition is top notch. Wonderful to see a date on it. 1979... later than I would have expected.

Thanks for your responses, I don't have much postwar German but loved the colour, shape and condition.

Think it only cost me about £10.
