Help to know this kind of German Rank

    Hi guys

    Hello,

these rank insignia are for sure NO Bundeswehr Army (Heer) Oberstabsgefreiter.
Please keep in mind, officially issued and approved rank insignia are not made on camo base. Looks like something (non German military) custom made for me.

    Regards

    Lars

I recall, that other nations use Flecktarn (variations) as well. The silver/blue stripes remind me of other countries' Air Force insignia...just a shot in the dark.

        GRAYWOLF,

I agree with Lars. Definitely not BW rank insignia but I can not say which country it belongs to.

        Regards,

        Gordon

Maybe some of the foreign Students attached to German Academies or Schools. I sent the Pic to my Friend who can check this next week when he's back on duty.

              Easy... Belgian Airforce

The Belgians used direct copies of Bundeswehr TruVsu 76 Flecktarn Groß and the type adopted by the BW in 1989. Why? I don't know, but I do know the Belgians weren't happy about it.

The uniform was used from the early 1990s until later 1990s. IIRC it was officially dropped in 1997 when a new standardized uniform was mandated (first issue was in 1995 or 1996).

The Flecktarn uniforms were not widely issued and the camouflage ranks were not always obtainable. You can see evidence of that, and more pictures, by clicking here.

I should have said "easy for me" since I have an example of every piece of Belgian Airforce Flecktarn camouflage uniforms/equipment ever made. Well, except for the massively rare frag vest. To offset that I have an experimental field jacket

Steve is quite correct......and the rank appears to be" First Master Sergeant " !
                  see here....http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Belgian_military_ranks
                  Prost ! Steve.

Looks more like Sergeant Major (1st Sergeant Major).
