Why wrong? In 1962 he had to replace the badge on the right arm with the new badge on the left arm.
He must not be a member of the 1. GebDiv.
But in two years it is absolute unusual, to have furthermore the lowest rank.

All Jackets I had or maybe still have came with the "Edelweiss". As I never served as a West-Berliner, I'm not that good in BW Stuff. I allway's have to ask a friend about the System and Unit's. The only I'm quite good in, is the Equipment, as we used a lot of it in the Boy Scouts.
But from looking at the Patch, I still would say it's much more modern as the Jacket.

Hi Nico,
"ZDV 37/10, Nr. 238:
Schibluse, grau 3)
3) nur festgelegte Truppenteile Wehrbereichskommando VI / 1.Gebirgsdivision, Jägerbrigade 37 und der Gebirgs- und Winterkampfschule;
Wehrbereichskommando III is a Kommandobehörde > it is allowed for a Gebirgsjäger, to wear the Schibluse.
But I'm more wondering about the low rank Soldat after a long time of service.
At that time normally 6 months service, and you are a Gefreiter.

But maybe the jacket was issued to a recruit from old stock?
