    BW FJ Items

I was recently able to add these nice items. I'd love to hear your thoughts.

The silvered version is for officers correct?

Nice ones. I'm sure the experts here will want to see the backs as, like TR stuff, there's fakes out there. Look pretty good to me from the front, though I'm no expert.

These are qualification badges, so they are not unit specific. Silver = 20 jumps, Gold = 50. This is the first version which was created in 1957. Before that they wore German made US qualification badges.

I appreciate the feedback and info guys.

I've taken a few more pics to help illustrate the finish color and maker marks.

I've never seen a gold clasp. They must be pretty rare.

Looks good to me! The maker's mark is for "Assmann", which made a lot of the early BW items since they also made Third Reich badges.

                Hi Steve,

                "Silver = 20 jumps, Gold = 50"

We are here in 1957/1958 with this badge. There is no Gold version in that time.

                See above.

                  Thanks Steve and Uwe!

So this style was eventually made in gold? I've never seen one. I've seen later style/design clasps ni gold but not this type.

                  Thanks again!

This is the problem of having great books in German, but only having a basic understanding of German

So did the addition of Gold come with the 2nd Model or the 3rd Model badge?

                          Steve,

the second model in cloth (Eisenbahnerabzeichen) was also only in one level.
The next one (since 1964/1965) was now in Bronze, Silber and Gold.
