    Insane Prices for Awards

I was randomly searching eBay.com for Bundeswehr items and I came across this listening for the Ehrenkreuz der Bundeswehr für Tapferkeit. It's funny the prices people ask for these awards. This is the listening from a seller in Australia who ships to the United States.

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/SCARCE-GERMA...item5d341f92ff

$199.66 + $29.69 Shipping to the United States equaling a grand total of $229.35 for the Award in Case

I know I know I laughed pretty hard too.

In comparison here is a listing for the same cased award on eBay.de and he too ships to the United States.

    http://www.ebay.de/itm/14-Ehrenkreuz...item5ae7b8803e

$125.83 + $10.07 Shipping for a grand total of $135.90 for the same cased award

Now lets see here $229.35 or $135.90 for the Award

Do a lot of these merchants not think or cross reference with the competition before they list their items at these ridiculous prices? My Großes Bundesverdienstkreuz didnt even cost as much shipping included as the Australian is asking for the Ehrenkreuz

I'm sure that medal's going to sit in his stocks gathering dust for quite some time

Sorry I was just rather amused by the prices asked in the listing

Uwe, maybe you missed something here.
I know Bender for many Years, you have to proof the Award to you to purchase here. The Majic Word is "Verleihungsmnachweis".
Even I can't buy them here as I'm not a registered Medals and Orders Dealer with an Exam.
The next is, it's only for the Award, no Ribbon Bar, no Case.
According to the German "Ordensgestz" everybody can be punished for Selling Active Awards to non Awardees, so If sold on foreign ebay Sites it's OK, on German ebay, maybe criminal.

Its the same thing when it comes to the Congressional Medal of Honor its illegal to sell inside the United States and for non awardees to own one yet they can be sold outside the country and numerous versions are on the market in Canada and in Europe

          Hi Nico,

why should I miss something here?

I have the complete set in my collection, with ribbon bar, the case and the mini.

Bought at Bender, for a very small price.

          And I don't have a "Verleihungsnachweis".

But I have an official document, the "Erlaubnis zum Erwerb von Orden und Ehrenzeichen", the so called "Sammelgenehmigung" (official permission, to buy such decorations).

OK, no problem, here are the next pieces:

          http://www.ebay.de/itm/Bundeswehr-Eh...item46052a860f

          http://www.ebay.de/itm/Bundeswehr-Eh...item45ff71d7f8

          http://www.ebay.de/itm/Bundeswehr-Eh...item1e6e2b6118

Do you think that Mr. Stephan is criminal?

          Uwe
