...does it have french cuffs ? Then it would be of a pre 1970 date. But from the details visble I would say at least post 1970 ...

To get to a more precise dating you should look at the inside. It looks like an issued tunic so it should have a label sewn to the inner pocket.

It seems to be unissued (if it they are stripped most often remains of the thread are visible / the outlines of the boards/ the stichholes...) with not matching shoulder boards sewn on... the colour isn´t matching very good, the boards look to dark, maybe they are originaly for shirt / coat.

If you are interested I could provide you with all the missing parts ...

Beside the collar tabs a actually worn tunic would have a unitpatch (Verbandsabzeichen) on the left shoulder. And - as stated - the shoulder boards look incorrect. They should be of the same colour then the jacket itself.

                Hi,

it is a jacket for a Feldwebel or a higher NCO rank.

The shoulder boards are wrong, with the rank, in the colour and in the fastening.
The jacket is made for seperate shoulder boards, see the loops under the shoulder boards.

The shoulder boards are not for the medical branch, they are for the technical troops (Technische Truppen).

Missing collar tabs and the unit patch (Verbandsabzeichen).

                Uwe

The shoulder boards seems to be from the greatcoat or the service shirt.

                  So wrong for this tunic.

The jacket (if made in 1989) may be altered to the loop style boards. I have seen them a few times, but not in active (official) use.

The latest type off service tunics will have the loop style boards, but these I haven´t seen yet.

I will have a look in September on my next "Wehrübung" (reservists exercice).
