Gentlemen,
For the last couple of weeks I have been participating in a thread trying to identify what appears to be German Railroad visor cap. The cap is red in colour, has a Flugelrad that was first worn in 1927 and what looks like a Bavarian cockade. The question is whether it is post 1945 or pre 1945. One avenue of research might be the telephone number of the maker on the sweat shield.
If I remember correctly, we discussed post war telephone numbers previously but I would like to talk about them again. Starting with the question-How many digits were used in telephone numbers in pre 1945 Germany? 2-how many didgits were used in telephone numbers in West Germany. I seem to remember that there were six digits used for a while after WWII and then at some time (unknown to me) the numbering system was changed to a greater number of digits than six. Can anyone give me the telephone numbers used in the areas of time that I have mentioned above?
Now on to pictures of the hat. I'll post the fron and interior of the red hat plusthe interior of another hat with the same makers label as is in the red hat. I do not have a picture of the exterior of the second cap.
