FDv1962 LOOK!!

i started a thread a while ago but quickly removed or edited it myself again because I wasnt sure if it is legit to post it...

now Im a bit more "brave" and try it again in hopes some one has some knowledge about it.

I wanted to start a auction with this Book yesterday but it was pulled from ebay-officials within 30mins

It is a Bundeswehr "Dienstvorschrift" from 1962..about the soviet army power.
I understand back then it really was a TOP SECRET Book in the Era of "Cold War" but isnt this long time ago?? and not "Confidential" anymore?..the Iron curtain is long gone..the Bw and the soviet army are probably much different in structure, tactics and so on.... Im quite certain that this Book isnt a Top Secret Item anymore...
So did they really have a reason to pull it?
Does anyone know where I would get informations about the "secret status" of this Book?

I think you would need to consult the referenced statutes to determine the security status of the book.

IMO, the content is clearly out of date. A non-existent country (UdSSR) deploying through/around other non-existent (DDR) or former-satellite countries (Poland/Czech/Slovakia). However, this does not mean the information is still not considered 'secret' under the rules it was published under.

It had been downgraded from "Confidential" to "Restricted" in 1984, the lowest grading.

The time period for a classification last 30 years, if there is no extension of time.

The manual is from 1966, the time period ended in 1997.

There is no longer a secruity level.

Very cool item! If there had been an extension, and someone decided to prosecute Thälmannpionier, can you imagine how much fun the media would have with this story? In a time of tight budgets and serious problems, a prosecution would be seen as an incredible waste of resources over absolutely nothing. Any politician involved would have the case quickly shut down. At least that would happen here in the US

I will try to contact the BMI in Germany and see what they say, to be on the safe side.
And maybe i shouldnt show the photo of the Confidential Stamps on a ebay auction but it makes this book so much more interesting;-)

Yes, I guess if i would had this book some 30years ago, i would be considered as "Top Spy"
