    P1 pistol pocket

    Hello,
Please who has had a P1 pistol pocket in brown?
    Bundeswehr?

If you're talking about a P38/P1 the only ones I've ever seen were military surplus and in black. Perhaps some in brown were used by other groups in Germany but they to the best of my knowledge were not imported here.

          P1-Holster

          Hi folks,

years ago I´ve seen one in a collection.Same look as the BW-one,
but in medium brown leather. No markings on it.
Eventually for higher BGS-Grades? I´ve seen pictures of BGS-men
          with the black ones.....
          Another Quest....

          Best regards

          Reiner

I have never seen one either, but I would not be surprised if there was a brown private purchase option at some point in the BW (or BGS?) history. Though they would also need a brown leather belt, which also wasn't standard for BW or BGS.

can you post it ? Is this a post war item or are you talking wartime. I do know the post war police had a brown shouler holster for carrying the p38 police post war aluminum framed(and anodized) P 38s. But they have a harness similar to suspenders hooked to them. But this may not be what you are referring to.

                Gentlemen,

The only brown holster that I am aware of that was worn by the BGS was that of the American M1911. There is no eveidence of any other colours than black or white leather holsters being worn for the P1. There were cloth camo holsters and before WWII there were tests with a brown P38 holster but it was never adopted.

                Regards,

                Gordon

                      Unkle Kurt,

That certainly looks like a post war P1 holster to me. The first one that I have ever seen. Possibly a trial peice that was never adopted.
Here is a picture of the pre-war trial P38 holster. The differences are very obvious.

                      Regards,

                      Gordon

                        Hello,
                        Yes, it looks good!
In my holster has long been a gun that you see on the trail in the bag.
                        Only those who have worn?

                        BGS, Bundeswehr, Polizei ????

Maybe ceremonial? Maybe produced for export?

                            Gentlemen,

I would say that Steve is probably correct and this holster, in brown, was produced for export. Excellent candidates for wearing this brown P38/P1 holster would have been the Austrian Gendarmerie or the Bundesheeres. They both used brown leather accessories. Here is a picture from "Die Gendarmerie-Organization-Uniformierung-Bewaffnung" showing a uniform mannequin wearing this style holster and a picture from "Die Uniformen des Oesterreichischen Bundesheeres 1952-1995" with this style of holster in wear.

                            Regards,

                            Gordon

                              Hello Gordon
Sorry, I do not think too!
The Austrian army had parts such as belts and holsters
but also leather belts made of natural leather.

This bag is leather dyed in the color brown.
In 1961, guarantees all leather parts manufactured in Austria.
There were extra leather manufacturers for all Army items.

What speaks against it is extremely early Bundeswehr or BGS!
I found this bag in the north of Germany at a very small flea market in the former GDR border.
from here to Austria are almost 800 km!

There are still lots of items from the early German time we do not yet know
