The simple answer is yes. It is the first type issued and was only worn for a few years until beret badges were produced for all BW formations with the state colours at the bottom.

That is the standard Overhoff of Ludeschied markings. Same as those found on WWII badges. OLC made many metal badges and insignia for the BW.
