    Are these BW chevronns?

    Gentlemen,

A forum member has asked if these are Bundeswehr chevrons. I don't have a set like this so I would appreciate your comments. If anyone has BW chevrons like this it would be appreciated if you would post pictures of them and also the size measurements.
I have a number of the single rank insignia from this period and there are three different designs on braid in what I have. Two of them have a design that looks like the design on the chevrons in the picture. Looking forward to your response.

    Regards,

    Gordon

To the Size of your types on the Board, I think they're French.

Definitely French. I don't know when they switched from that style of brown wool, but I'd guess these are valid through at least 1970s.

        Nico, Steve,

Thanjs for your comments. Interesting that they use braid so similar to that used in the BW.

        Regards,

          Gordon,
maybe German Made for the French Forces. After the War, a lot of Stuff was made for the Occupation Forces. Maybe you remember the US Chevrons I showed a Year ago or so in the US Forum, made of Wehrmacht Material.

Another possibility is the concept of the early 1950s that the NATO military forces should have common elements. Many of these standardizations did not happen, or did not last long. Others, like ammunition, vehicle identification markers, etc. did. Perhaps the early BW rank was influenced by the French just as field gear was influenced by Americans? We know for sure that the BW Splittertarn uniform was heavily influenced by the ESV design which, for example.
