usmedalman made a post on this topic on the thread I started on women's uniform but it was too far off topic to remain there. I think he has an interestign question so what he ask is printed below. I would be very interested in the answer.

"This is a bit off topic, however, do you know what limitations there are on women serving in the Bundeswehr. For example, in the US Army women cannot serve in a combat arms branch (infantry, artillery, armor, etc.), however they can serve in other branches within a combat arms division. i.e. female Military Police serving in an Infantry division.
This poses a unique situation such as occurred during Operation Just Cause when a female MP captain earned a Silver Star for combat heroism or in Afghanistan where a female medic with the 82nd ABN earned a Silver Star."
