Great Article on BW/US Op in Afghanistan

While this link is to the full copy of the current issue of Army History magazine, beginning on page 25 is a great article on a battle in which US Medivac helicopter pilots earned several BW medals for their heroic assistance to Platoon G, 3rd Company, 373 Para Bn.

As a side note, is there currently anything similiar to the wound badge for award to BW troops wounded or killed in action?

Yes I remember when this happened, I got the original story on my computer at the office. It's a really great story showcasing how deep a bond soldiers have regardless of nationality an ally is an ally and these guys risked their lives to assist their German brothers in arms. Thanks for the post
