Interesting Auction Items - Industrial Police & Firemen's Orders

Team - These items have been offered on Manion's recently and I thought they may be of interest. I don't recall us having covered them before.

I'll begin with a collection of Industrial Police insignia, apparently worn by German security officers in the U.S. sector in the early Cold War era.

The rank bars look very similar to those worn by the East German Factory Militia (Kampfgruppen). South Korea also employs a series of horizontal red bars in its rank structure.

Next up, Firemen's Long Service Orders.

    All the best - TJ

I didn't know of the existence of these cased firemen's long service orders until I stumbled across them on the auction site.

    They certainly do stand out.

                            economic treated very unkindly.

                              TJ,

I've looked at the Labour Service insignia on Manions for the last few months. There were two framed sets of insignia originally and now only one but I don't remember the other one being sold. I would have bought them but I think the price is too high. We have discussed this organization before and the museun Nico used to support in McNare barracks had a good display of their artifacts.

The Fire awards are very ornate and interesting. I've resisted buying any because one can only branch out into so many different areas. If memory serves me right, the ones you posted are national awards. Most states have their own Fire Fighters awards in a different design. Thanks for posting them they are always great to look at.

                              Regards,

                              Gordon
