    ...and those rifles were used for a quite long time ! While Garand and .30 disapeared fast after the G1 was taken into use you still see the Enfield on pictures dating in the 60ies ...

    P.S.: If my first picture book (available in February 2012 I hope...the first 30 pages are already layouted... ) is a real success it might grow into a serial...with a private insight to the Luftwaffe as volume 3...

      Did the Luftwaffe ever get the G1 or did they turn in the Enfields for G3s?

        Thanks for the info on the Lee Enfields. Seems strange to me that the Luftwaffe was using Canadian rifles while I, serving in the Canadian Air Force, was using an M1 Garand!

          TJ, I have no detailed information on this ... but as my LE album is from 1963 they may have changed the Lees to G3 without the detour over the G1
