Insignia of officers in the General Staff

    Gentlemen,

Both Kunstwadl and Schuter say that the collar tabs for officers in the General Staff originaly had grey background with their sepcial embroidery in the centre. Does anyone know during what years the grey collar tabs were worn? When the grey collar tabs were worn was the pipping on the sholuder boards grey or red?

    Regards,

    Gordon

    Hello,
the grey collar tabs are only worn in 1956-1957. In 1957 the background turned into red.
Shoulderboards has silver pipping till 1962.

    Regards, Christian

      Christian,

Thanks for the quick response. No wonder I have never seen a uniform with the grey collar tabs.

      Regards,

      Gordon
