Flat gold vs. raised silver Feldwebel insignia

Hello all,

I have another "rookie" question, when did the Bundeswehr swich from the flat gold colored Feldwebel rank devices used on the shoulder boards, to the dull silver colored rasied type used today? My guess is the early 70s? I just aquired a 1972 Feldwebel's jacket that is missing the devices on the boards, and am wondering what to use, I have both flat gold and raised silver in the spares box.

According to my reference books, the change was made in 1963.
