Below are three sets of officer and one set of Enlisted rank. I am curious to know a couple of things...
The set second from the left is a lighter gray material. I have quite a few of these sets and I am wondering if they were always lighter or if this is just from fading. I suspect they were always lighter. I so, what years were these used?
I have a lot of shoulder rank from the 1960s that have small metal clips on the under side of the rank. I've seen these on all classes of rank, not just senior like in this picture (second from right). It appears both shoulders wore rank like this, not just on one shoulder. What did these clips hold?
