Compared with the only photo of the 1955 prototype camo-dress (shown for example in Hormans book on page 32) it can be possible that this is a real prototype ... but why I offer such a rare item with only one poor picture ?? Not an auction I really trust in ...

I wouldn't be surprised if he is waiting to pounce on this one as well, just so that he can retain his monopoly on ultra rare BW camo stuff.

Maybe that's why he has been so quiet.

Yup, it's the real deal. My guess is this could go as high as 600 EUR. But who knows... lone trousers are far less desirable than lone jackets. The rarity, however, is a big wild card at play.

I've been quiet about this one because a friend of mine is bidding hard on it He missed out on a full set a few months ago that I was negotiating for. He lost out in a private offline bid, but fortunately it went to another really good friend of mine. So I'm happy I know where another set is. The only other piece I personally know of is a jacket. There was another set up for sale two years ago but the guy wanted something like 1600 EUR for it. I talked him down as far as 1200 EUR, but since it wasn't significantly better than mine I passed.

Unfortunately the crotch straps appear to usually be cut out of the jackets. I've seen pics of 4 jackets and 3 had the straps cut out.

The seller pulled the auction early, so we will not know what the worth is at auction. My guess is the trousers are worth between EUR 500 and EUR 700.
