March 1982 Edition of the BW Uniform Regulations

Team - I recently received the March 1982 Edition of the Bundeswehr Uniform Regulations ( ZDv 37 / 10 Anzugordnung für die Soldaten der Bundeswehr, März 1982).

The regulation is packaged in a handy 9" X 7.5" two ring binder containing about 600 pages of information packed with illustrations. It covers all four services.

Here is an example covering Special Badges. The regulation provides the name of the badge, how it was worn on the uniform, the grades it was awarded in and, in some cases, what was necessary to earn the badge.

Congratulation on this nice hardware version of the ZDv37_10 ! A hard to get item ...

Its also on the market as .pdf version ... at the moment I try to get scans of older ones ...

Mike, the FJ branch is mentioned in case they are allowed to wear special uniform items. Maybe they are also pictured, but most possible that there is only a footnote...

Interesting book. There doesn't seem to be much difference between this 1982 ZDv 37/10 and the 1989 version which is currently on-line. Earlier, I had asked Jens to see if he could find copies of these books for me as they are rare and expensive when you can find them. What we need, is a copy of each issue so that we can compare them. Unfortunately, these books only contain the bare bones info on the more commonly worn items. You'll find numerous stuff on this forum that does not appear in the Regulations.

Mike - As Jens indicated, there are little dribs and drabs scattered throughout the book, such as this excerpt on Navy jump wings.

The lead paragraph (363.) seems to indicate that more information pertaining to the airborne is found in regulation ZDv 16 /19.

I'll definitely throw a scan out there if I come across something interesting.

Gordon - I agree completely on the need for comparative analysis. There is no reference that I'm currently aware of that details the evolution of Bundeswehr insignia; special badges and the like in particular.

I like this book because it’s small, handy, easy to use and fairly comprehensive. In short, it’s the ideal desk side reference for mediocre forum mods like myself!

Attached below is a reference sheet on the Leistungabzeichen.
Until I came into possession of this book, I was unaware of the numbered version of this badge as seen in picture 342/2. Twenty years of collecting and six years in Germany and I never even knew this version of the badge existed.

I love this hobby. There's always something new popping up.

Things like these numbered Leistungabzeichen must be super rare. I've seen them pictured in the ZDv 37/10 before but I have never seen one for sale. The reservist one is hard enough to find!
