Help with BW patch

Can anyone tell me what this patch is. I guessing it has something to do with airborne?

Yes, you are correct. This is the "Verbandsabzeichen" (unit patch) of the 1. Luftlandedivison - 1. Airborndivison - as it was sewn to all dress uniforms of members of the specific unit from 1962 on.

A Division is in silver (hand-embroidered versions in silver with black stripes, the other versions in white with black stripes), the first Brigade of a Division is in pure white.
