Help needed with early BGS ranks

    Hallo,
for my page "Schulterstück-Fibel" (http://lbsr.mzf.cz/dr/sf/sf.html ) I'm trying to put together police-like BGS shoulder boards (1951-2001?).
I found some infos on internet, but nothing about early 1951-56 ranks and shoulder boards.
Could somebody from this forum help me with it?
Worksheet of BGS shoulder boards is here:
    http://lbsr.mzf.cz/brd/bgs/BGS.html

Any help will be very appreciated!!!

      Thnx!
But are You sure with Oberst with 2 two pips side-by-side?
And I cannot find anybody with rank Generaloberst before July 1956
      (Kurt Georg Heinrich Andersen)!?!

My mistake, Oberst - Two Pips, one on top of the other.

        So it would be:

        20. None
        21. Oberst

        Take a look here: http://www.huntzmanpatches.com/Germa...ank%28C%29.htm

Here is rank chart for these shoulderboards. Colour is different from both later models. They are slightly darker than graphics in link, and backing is dark green.

          http://www.uniforminsignia.net/?opti...53&result=2481

I have the early uniform, but no good photos of shoulderboard colour. This is best photo I have to show (here Oberwachtmeister). It is not olive like post1956 shoulderboards in centre.

          regards

That's a good website reference. But just a caution to police collectors, do not trust the colors shown !!! They are only representative and not what the actual board colors are.

                Huntzmann,
OK & thnx for link to Your collection - I've added it to my worksheet.

                Klaus 1989,
I know this site - I'm one of its consultants. There are great mistakes in BGS rank chart, especially in that mentioned. I'm sure Stabsmeister & Oberstabsmeister officer - like shoulderboards were introduced in 1969, rank of Generalmajor didn't exist before 1961 etc. etc.

What I really need, is comparative pics of shoulder board from 1951-1956 and after 1961 - due to color differencies. If You had both of them, be so kind and send me pics. Thnx in advance.

Also I'm pretty sure that Grenztruppjäger 1951 had the same shoulder boards as Grenztruppjäger (i.e. without "V" in outer cords) with one pip added (somewhere in "beimaltenbgs" is video, from which it cold be clearly seen).

Btw: Your "Eisenhower jacke" uniform from beginning period of BGS is really excellent! You must be very happy with it isn't You? Really great!
Better pics (in bigger resolution) would be wonderful...

The Stabsmeister and Obermeister was "officer-style" in 1950s, they changed to like Meister ranks in late 1950s or so. There was photo or two on Beim alten BGS of those type shoulderboards worn during 1950s. By 1969, they definitely do not wear them.

I do not have digital camera, so I will see if I can borrow one to take photo of shoulderboards.

                  regards
                  Klaus
