    Unknown Visor Hat

Here is one I picked up. It looks closest to a WWII red cross visor hat.

    Any ideas?

In the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king.

Duct tape can't fix stupid, but it can muffle the sound.

Just spotted this thread. I'm not familiar with this style of hat, but the wreath looks like what was used on East German KVP officer visor hats.

The wreaths used by the KVP were gold colored. During the transition from the KVP to the NVA silver colored wreaths of this style were used on NVA-style visor hats.

Cap visor is almost identical to a Bundesbahn cap I had, but sold earlier this year. The chinstrap and grey sweatband is also typical West German. I have never seen West German DRK Schirmmützen (only Bergmützen), but I guess they wore them, at least early years. I am not really sure what correct cap badge would be.

            regards
