Below is a link to a great website about march compasses. I had known, from veteran accounts, that the "Original-Bézard", or just Bézard, compass was utilized by the Bundesgrenzschutz. The website has some wonderful information about this compass and its use by the Bundesgrenzschutz and Bundeswehr. The author also dispells the myth that the compass was utilized by the Wehrmacht.
