Early BGS or Police specialty Patch?

Greetings all,

I am a Heer insignia collector and picked this up along the way. I checked in the Police forum and somebody there thought it might be West German or Post WWII. Any ideas? Thanks.

I can tell you it is definately not Bundesgrenzschutz as they did not utilize "specialist" badges.

I have never seen anything like this in use in the Bundeswehr.

It`s possible that this is a patch for a "Schützenuniform" ... the traditional cooperations in germany wear very traditional uniforms and two crossed rifles are a common symbol.
