Well I've got and ealry pair of ammo pouches and Y-straps dated 1957 and 58. Where can I obtain the open claw belt? I've not seen them on Ebay nor anywhere else for sale.

Beside the G1 leather pouches wich are more common even here in germany the BGS leather gear is hard to find ...
If intersting stuff turns up I´ll post it here...

I have seen old police belts on ebay.de but not specific BGS. Also sometimes on ebay.com as WW2 German officer belts (they have differences with reproductions and originals).
Another BGS collector I know gave me recently the address of dealer in München that sells them, but have not been to Germany since he gave me this. Now I have 1970s-80s private purchase Polizei belt, but will buy 1950s BGS belt from friend sometime. You just have to search.
