    Early BW NBC equipment

As I managed to get one of the first Gasplanen last week I think some pictures might be of interest here ... this special item is another piece with wehrmacht-origin...including the bag. The main difference between WH and BW bag is the material... while WH just used simple fabric the BW bag ist made of rubberized fabric...:

p.s.: the two empty bags may be fore sale...

    Jens - Nice pick-up.

Here is my reconstruction of a Heerestruktur2 Panzergrenadier wearing the old style gas cape.

And here is the second version of the "ABC Plane" as it was used from the early `60ies on...as far as i know it was now carryed in one of the lower pockets of the BDU trouser - for to carry it in the old stile pocket from post no 1 it is about 2 cm to long...

        Revitalising this thread...

...with some other little items from the NBC protection kit. More or less identical to the orange colored "Hautengiftungsmittel" flask of Wehrmacht era the Bundswehr used a set of two of these bottles until the late 60ies... One in orange for the same purpose as it had in WW2 and a second one, colored in olive green, containing oil to decontaminate weapon and equipment ... For years I only knew them from pictures in the first "Gelboliv" magazins or in Schusters book and it took long hours scrolling ebay to find a NBC mask set with a pair of these little bottles...it turned out thet the orange one was a 1957 manufactured one made of a relatively hard plastic with the instruction moulded into the backside. The green one was made in 1967. Its of a softer palstic and all instruction etc is stamped on in white. For the next time I was happy...
Last year olive green bottles turned up from one dealer in ebay. Made of hard plastic - as my orange one - they were also made in 1957. Oposite to this it has no instruction on it... and last week another cave opened spilling out a third version of the olive green bottle: again in hard plastic, made by PSL in 1962, packed in cardboard boxes in Januar 1963... they are available in such quantity that I now have mor ethen I ever will need ...

So if you need more then a look at the pictures... they are already on e-stand...
