This is a current Customs tunic of the German Zoll rank of Zollinspektor, I can send a link to the patches and ranks if you wanted. I nearly bought one with a fantasy police arm patch in a weak moment thinking it may be a Forst polizei from Wittman.

I have never found a source of rank information on the net for Zoll either Nor uniforms. You mentioned that you did find something in that line on the net and I'd like to have the url for that site please. It would be great if it was possible for you to scan the information in your BGS books re Zoll uniforms and ranks and post them in this thread for our future reference. I am not surprised that the BRD Zoll wore something else besides the blazer style jacket in the past. The blazer style just doesn't seem to fit from the 1950s until now. Uniforms usually change more often that that!
Anyway, thanks for the input and loking forward to any other info you can turrn up on Zoll uniforms and ranks. In the meantime, here is a jacket for a Zoll See member.

the orignal badge is made by metall ore plastic!! This badge is never worn on the old style Schirmmütze, it from the K-9 cap seen here.

I've seen Zoll trousers many times (a long time ago) crossing from France into Germany and vice versa. Have no idea now what they looked like but the guys at the border certainly wore a hat like you posted (now in my collection).
I can add a woman's hat probably from the same era?

an general information about Zoll: From 1.1.1973 the ney style uniform was worn, from that date there where no more rangpatches anymore!! All ranks use the same uniform! Only we personaly know the rank of an college in the unit.
At the moment there are rumors that Zoll get an new style uniform with rangboards as well. We will see!!
Until 1952 Zoll use the same uniform as the Zollgrenzschutz from 1937, but whitout the Ärmelband (Cuff tittle). The rankpatches from 1952 chance in 1954, the golden for high senior officers became silver as Inspektoren etc., the Wasserzoll chance the rangpatches for golden, the old one where the same as for the Landzoll (Green & silver). From 1965 female officer serve at borderstation and use uniform, they have a speical variant of the rangboards,
all rangpatches where handmade as the uniform at all (Taylormade).
If there is an interested for Zoll Uniforms from the 1952, I will show them. We use in the Grenzdienst also Camoflage in the same style as BGS but with in an
different colour!!! The suit came in 3 pieces, Jacket, Trouser and Kapzue!!
All this stuff must be orderd by the Zollkleidekasse.

I for one would be very interested in seeing pictures of your Zoll uniforms and the more information you can provide the better. Pictures of the "We use in the Grenzdienst also Camoflage in the same style as BGS but with in an
different colour!!! The suit came in 3 pieces, Jacket, Trouser and Kapzue!!" Would really be of interest. Information on the Zoll on our site is limited.

I am also very interested in seeing more pictures Zoll uniforms! Especially any information about camouflage types. I've never seen or heard about anything specially made for Zoll. Using BGS uniforms, however, would make sense.
