This helmet is of the biggest shell size 57-61 !!
Made only in quite low numbers I guess.

The new designed Interior and chinstrap assembly were a little bit more
complicated to adjust properly , so an instruction leaflet was issued with
          the modified helmet.
Too much information for just one sticker....

          Here some details.

Stamping on this cover indicates the use on the "S" Stahlhelm and the shell
                  size .
"Flecktarn" as is this camo called is also used on covers designed and made for the Gefechtshelm. These are stamped with a "G".

                      That`s it !
With the M1A1 modifiziert the use of "real" Steelhelmets ended with the german army.
The next step in protecting the soldiers heads was the adoption of the
                      Gefechtshelm. (Ballistic helmet)

                      Best regards

                      Bernhard

                        Hi fellow collectors ,

I just stumbled across these pics from the issue helmet cover for
the M1A1 helmet adopted in very slow quantities.
I was silly enough to let this one go
Never saw another one for sale !!

                        Regards

                            Finally : The Net

                            Hi fellow collectors ,

After searching for this helmet accessory for some years now I almost
lost hope of finding one of these.
I was fortunate and finally found it

The first Bundeswehr issue helmet net that was adopted in November 1955 and was designed to go with the "Zweiteiligen Stahlhelm"-the M1 clone.

It is described as a net with 13X16 squares of 40mm , having the dimension of 64x52cm and of course two clamps that allow the net to be attached onto the helmet.

Here we see the net unmounted :

The helmet net has two mounting clamps to go over the rim , here we see
                              the front clamp :
