          Hi Bernhard,
          hope you´re doing well?!
I´m newly into West German helmet covers... What´s the story of these particular rubber olive/snow camo covers? Did they belong to a certain snow camo suit? Were they the trial of 500 pieces mentioned by Baer? When were they introduced and used?

          LG Stefan

I was silly enough to let this one go
Never saw another one for sale !!

I bought a box of them about 30yrs. ago in a Bavarian Army Shop as NBC Covers for the Helmet.
What confused me during all these yrs., they had Vent Holes at the sides, if I recall right, 6 in a circle with another one in the middle.
            Never made sense to me.
I really need to find them in Storage, if I'm right 2 or 3 must be left from the Lot. All unused.
But everybody who knows my Storages, know's it might take a while.

              Hi Nico,
do you remember the stampings on the covers?
Please let me know when you found them, I would be glad to get one!

I can't remember any stamping, but this means nothing.
Let's see where and when I find them.

Maybe when I have some wholesale shipments from the other Storage.

                  Hello, great thread.

I collect early Bw photo albums and just found this picture with a helmet type I haven't seen so far.

                  What exactly is it?

                  Regards, Matthias

I think the guy is wearing the grey helmet liner on its own without the steel shell...

Yes, that is the liner being worn without the steel shell. It is a common practice to do this for certain events, such as parades and awards ceremonies. More comfortable for the soldiers.

Don't know when they introduced the Types, but there was a Dull Liner for the Shell and a shiny one, called, "Helm, Repäsentation", so for Parades, Ceremonies etc.

Yesterday I fund one with Helmet in my Storage.
Rented another one for easier sorting, so I can go tthrough hundreds of Boxes.

                            Here's the Snow Side.
Note the real large size Stamp

note the Vent holes, wich allway's let me think if it's an NBC Cover.
