Thanks Christian, that link has some excellent info in it. It shows all the different manufacturers and different changes in the medallions through the years. I really like this award. It is absolutely stunning to look at and it is made in very high quality. I believe this one to be 90's manufacture? I can't read German so I am limited as to what the site says. Is this cross rare?

I don't know if you would call his cross rare but they are not plentiful especially cased with the civilian pin award. One with an award document would be classed as rare.
