This is regarding the paint on a rough-finish BGS M-35/52 i picked up.
It actually has three finishes received in service. The base coat is an apple green. Then at some point it received some denting to the upper front quarter & this was somewhat imperfectly pounded out.
The interior was then repainted a medium dark green apparently to cover this work. Then the exterior received the rough texture medium dark green.
The paint all looks professional & done in service & the rough finish shows field use, but the dent repair is less than perfect. I'm wondering whether such work might be done at a depot, or where. It seems "un-German" to do less than a smooth job fixing the dents! Maybe they were in a hurry to reissue it - these were used only for a short time early in the Cold War.
