Here are some more early Bundeswehr photos; from 1955-1958 issues of Der Frontsoldat / Der Deutsche Soldat. Unfortunately out of a couple hundred photos there are no 1957 awards in any of the 57/58 issues...

Its seem to me that the BRD Battle suite had to go with a tie!!!!
I guess they have watched movie "the matrix" in advance

It looks like they either wore a tie, a white scarf, or an olive drab scarf with their fatigue uniforms!
Or they just wore their dress uniforms in the field...Comment
