Small castle badge

Hi
I would appreciate some assistance in putting a name to this badge.I have gone through my own reference books without any joy although this did enable me to rule out the Inniskilling and Suffolk badges.It appears to be made of brass with a maker mark of S S Ltd B on the large rear fixing plate. I am beginning to suspect that this may not even be a British badge but do think it is a collar badge.
Your help would be appreciated

It's an American Army Corps of Engineers collar tab enlisted, WWII era. Not familiar with the maker, could be theater made.

Hi Andy, Charlie is correct. It is British made; the maker is "Simon & Sons Ltd, Birmingham".
