    Devon Regt Badge question

    Hi
I have had this for quite a time and would like to know if this is an officers issue badge . Also,is it possible to advise me of the materials used in construction.
    Thanks
    Andy

It appears to be an Other Ranks badge, made of gilding metal & white metal, but with a brownish toning that such badges can pick up over time.
It was in use from about 1903 (sealed 19/8/03) until the 50's, a St. Edwards Crown version in the same metals but with an unvoided centre being sealed 10/10/55.

The badge you're showing is Kipling & King's 602, the badge had a fairly long life, this one is not one of the earliest I would say, from the quality & colour..

Price from a dealer is around £6.

Forgot - similar toning can be picked up from subjection to tobacco smoke over a period of time.
