Very interesting helmet, certainly navy use. It is not a "camo" but a very nice one. Could you confirm me if it is british rather than US made ?

It's British-made. It has the smooth khaki paint and the British-style bales. I don't think blue was limited only to Royal Navy or the Royal Naval Division -- they apparently were used by army troops as well.
Yes, obviously, not combat camouflage, the blue was more for identification purposes, I would guess.

Thanks again Colin for posting those pics for me,
I had been looking for a Desert Camo Helmet for ages, before the one below came along.
Ive seen lots of photos of helmets with scrim on the netting during the war, and know that there are quite a few places where you can buy scrim.
But does anyone have any lids with their original netting and scrim?
that would be interesting to see.
