30 Corps Cpl Inngles

I've recently moved house and have been unpacking boxes from my collection, I came across a box with a uniform in it, I had forgotten all about it, I bought it about 20 years ago. My own collecting interests are mainly German WW2 and have very little knowledge of British stuff. Could anyone enlighten me with information about the uniform and point me in the direction where I could research the former owner.

I understand it's 30 Corps but haven't been able to identify any of the other insignia. Thanks in adavance.

Thanks for the replies, I don't suppose it's that sort after but at least the ACC badges haven't been removed to make more collectable. i don't think he saw any front line action but he did bring back some nice German souvenirs which I bagged at the same time along with some of his webbing.

The MiD Oak Leaf is not on any medal ribbon which could indicate that the action was post WW2 and no medal was issued for where ever it was. It is extremely hard to find service details for British Service personnel.
Hit and miss, but you could try entering his number in go ogle to see what you get.

The MID is not on a ribbon as the ribbon it was meant to be worn on '1939-45 War Medal' has not yet been issued.
I have seen MID devices sewn directly onto uniforms on a number of occasions.
Nothing wrong with it.

P.S. I have a Brigadiers BD blouse and SD jacket to this unit.

You should be able to look up this MID in the Gazette you havea his name and rank should not be too may to cpls.

Watch out on rank/name searche I was do a lookup on a medal group of a Cpl once and could not find the MID in the Gazette untill I took the rank off and found the MID was awared as a Srgnt.

That's a very nice battledress that ticks all the right boxes: original insignia, fully marked with stamps, name and number inside as well as an interesting medal combination with the MID. There was a time when collectors would have stripped all the insignia off and binned the clothing because it wasn't to a front-line unit - now finding something complete like this is quite rare.

Good luck with the research. It would be nice if the webbing and bring-back items were able to stay with the owners uniform as a set.
