This may be a bit out of line for this forum, but I'll go for it anyway.
I'm looking for information concerning the following person:
R 132700
Harvey, Benjamin Campbell
KIA 3/30/43
Flight Sgt. (Air Gunner) RCAF
I've been to the CWGC website, and found the basic info. What I would like to know is how he died, squadron he belonged to, that sort of thing.
I don't have any medals or anything like that. It's just a matter of curiosity. You see, my father was sexton of the cemeteries in the town that I grew up in. I used to work in the summer taking care of the grass, etc, and I used to push my mower past the Harvey family grave marker. It mentions that he was in the RCAF, and was KIA, that's it. I just wonder about the poor fellow's fate. The marker was stuffed in a corner of one of the more remote cemeteries in town. I think we were the only people to visit it on a regular basis,
It's one of those things that has been nagging at me for close to 20 years.
