Mystery high boots

Does anyone have any idea what these boots are? Are they even military? There are 20 sets of eyelets and they stand about 16 inches high.

Hi Steve, these could be military, but it is hard to say. This style of boot of favoured by many officers in WW1 and continued to be worn in the early part of WW2 by many senior ranks. The problem is, like all officers boots of the type, is that they were private purchase so many different variations can be found.

Sure, that helps. At least I know that they "could" have been used by an officer. I wouldn't think that this style of boot would have been used by anyone not in the military, but who knows....
