MKIII Helmet

I picked this up today but can't find any markings on it.

Were the MKIII lids stamped in the same way as the MKII? Where should I be able to find them?

I think the colour is original but I'd like to hear your opinions.

Hi Tony,

I have one that is marked close to the liner. Get it into good light and tilt it about to catch any markings.

I think if you take of the liner you should find a date on one of the black liner band.
Mine is dated 1945, but certainly post-war re-painted as yours seems to be.

HI ynot,
If your liner is dated 1943 it means a standard liner was put in this MK III shell. BTW the MKIII liner is slightly different from the MK II one ie it is deeper and the cushion have to be thicker. I have to check these info but it what I recall from the doc I have.
