CDN MKII Fire Helmet

Hi guys,
Picked this one up yesterday. Its a CDN MKII with liner and chinstrap. I've never seen one marked up and stamped like this one is.
The single red F, I get. I haven't been able to find out what CPC stands for. Fire/Feu is english/French for fire.
Stamped into the top side of the rim is MFD, Montreal Fire Department? and the other side is stamped in the same number that is painted right above it..I assume an ID number.
Anyone seen anything like this before?

hmm the only CPC I can come up with are

CPC Canadian Pension Commission (Department of Veterans Affairs)
CPC Canadian Postal Corps
CPC Canadian Provost Corps
CPC Corps Protection Company

Not of which fit with the above

As for ARP tin lids I and only ever seen

ARP, W, AW, P and RCMP

Hmm I wonder if we are reading it wrong perhaps "CDC' would make sense as in Montreal they had thier own CDC arrangments CDC meaning Civil Defense Civile

A little digging and I found it

Thanks byterock! That makes sense and I was presuming it was civil defence just couldn't reconcile the CPC. Appreciate your help!
