Helmet: British??? Period???

I have been trying to figure out this helmet. I had assumed that it was British, but I cannot identify the insignia on the front of the helmet, and I can find no markings of any kind on the helmet interior or the liner. No stamps, no impressed marks, nothing. Not on the helmet shell or the liner supports, or anywhere else.


If anyone has any thoughts on this one I would appreciate hearing them!

Based on your post I was able to find the insignia, identified as the "flash" of the "Western Command" of the Irish Defense Forces.
