      Gorkha Army ?

I think this is a tourist piece or very poor attempt at a fake.

It certainly isn't British military issue.

There were 'Gorkha' regiments in the British Indian Army, the spelling changed to 'Gurkha' before 1900 and the present Indian Army recruits Nepalis for 'Gorkha' regiments, but there is no 'Gorkha Army'. Sorry!

              Hello

My opinion is a tourist piece. The Royal Nepal Army carry kukri but they are not marked Gorkha Army.

It is similar to a post war British Army issue kukri as issued to the Gurkha Regiments in the British Army, now just one, the Royal Gurkha Rifles, but the marking is wrong and British Army ones are slimmer/narrower in the blade. The blade of mine, 1980s issue from my time with the Gurkhas, is just over 11 inches from tip to where it joins the handle. Yours looks a little small unless you have very large hands.

It even has two 'citations'. one from the Gurkha Museum in the UK. Both say, 'yes, this type of kukri was made in India in 1943-45' and 'yes, it looks like an issue piece'. Neither says a word about Special Forces or Airbourne'. Colour me skeptical!
