    RAAF pilot and DFC winner

Here is a small grouping from a RAAF pilot that I got some time ago. I believe the wings are made in the middle east, as they don't look like the normal RAAF-australian or the British Commonwealth Air Training Program (BCATP)-Canadian made wings. BTW, I am using Warren Carrol's reference book.

Also the ribbon bar came with the group (I will have to post that later). To me (and I have spent some time with a loop and a strong light) it looks like the wing is the same in the photo.

The scan on the photo isn't that great. I think I made an error in in my DPM or dot matrix or what ever

    Here is the wing.

Here is the back of the photo and wing.

The writing on the back of the photo says:

      164
      TRUBSHAW

      Black Stuat Mount

then it has an ink stamp for the Pall Mall Photo Studio in Cairo Egypt.

The ribbons are for the DFC, the Africa Star and the 1939-1945?? star according to a friend in Australia.

Originally, I thougth the 164 was the squadron number, Trubshaw was his name, and Black Stuat Mount was some location in Australia???

However, a friend in Australia said that the RAAF didn't have a 164 squadron, (I think the RAF had one, but it was with Brazillians), no Trubshaw showed up in the records for earning the DFC, and he also thought the uniform (and thus the picture) was post war--maybe into the 1950's. As far as I know, the writing is original to the picture. Heck, I didn't pay much for the items in any case, I just like the picture of the pilot wearing his wings. But any information would be appreciated.
