British Boots ??

I have a pair of boots with a maker mark on the inside : John White 1942
and the W/I\ D 1942
the sole is marked with IX and /I\ 9 the size is 9

did one among you know this type of boots?

Hi, I have never seen anything like them before? Original? Yes, certainly I would say. The maker is a legit WW2 manufacturer who made boots for the WD. What they were used for I have not a clue?

RAF Mosquito Boots

Hi,

There is a pair featured on page 146 of "Luftwaffe Vs RAF, Flying Clothing of the Air War 1939-45" by Mick Prodger.

I believe I have also seen a photograph of a New Zealander Soldier wearing a pair of these in North Africa in 1941.

Hi Rob, you post has jogged my memory and I have just checked an illustration in one of my boots which shows a pilot wearing these boots in the Far East.
