Advice on ww2 raf pilots cloth brevet

    Hi all,
Beginner collector here, as title states I’m looking for some ww2 pilots wings but unsure what exactly to look for. I know these can easily be faked or newer ones can be passed off as older than they are though.
I see some are padded and some are not, some have safety pins and some not. There also seem to be a huge range! I had a look on ww2wings.com and saw the vast array.
I can’t find much on the manufacturers of these or why there are so many different styles so I’m also looking for info on that too.

If there is a thread already made on this maybe someone could point me in the direction?
    Thanks

I would start by obtaining a copy of "Eagles Recalled" by Warren Carroll to gain a pretty good overview of Commonwealth wings and associated insignia.

From then on, it's researching related topics on the WAF, getting to know reputable dealers and keeping an eye on stand.

Also, make sure you become an Association member so that you can post photos of any acquisitions for informed opinions.

    Mike
