I'm cutting and pasting this from the international forum because there might be some records for him in the UK, as he has medals awarded by Great Britain. Any help would be appreciated!

Hi All:
I don't collect Polish WW2 items at all, but on a whim picked up a group that I thought looked really neat and was priced fair to boot.
It's a 1945 dated British BD to an NCO in the 2nd Polish Motorized Artillery Regiment, 1st Armored Division. He wears three French ribbons on the BD, so I assume he left Poland and served in France before they surrendered. The group also has a four-ribbon bar for his British 39-45 Star, France and Germany Star, War, and Victory medals, and a ribbon for the Bronze Cross of Merit with Swords (from Poland).
Interestingly, also with the BD is a box from the UK government with his 39-45 and France and Germany Stars, along with the transmittal document. It was delivered to an address for him in Scotland, and on the back has the Polish resettlement stamp on it. That box was then mailed to him at an address in MA in the US, and that mailing envelope was kept with the box.
The BD is named with his last name and the box has his first initial and last name on it. That's the only ID I have on the group. I did find a guy with that first initial and that last name who died in CT (in the US) and his obit stated that he had been in officer candidate school before the war started in Poland and was later a POW of the Germans - but nothing about serving with the French or anything like that...so I don't know if it's the right guy or not.
Anyway...if anyone can assist, I'd greatly appreciate it!
Dave
