    Barn Find - Flare Gun

    Hi Guys,

This was brought in today at my house (near the WWI Flanders Battlefield).

A British WWI (1915 marked) Flare Gun. It needs to be cleaned up after 113 Years.

Anyone who can name the model, Producer, give more info on the markings etc.

    Thank you in advance,

Not British, It is a German WWI flare pistol Manufactured by Thiem und Schlegelmilch, Suhl. Dated 1915. Wolfgangs book called it an Einlaufige Signalpistole, also referred to as an 1899, or early Weber. Not sure what the Germans called it.

Makers mark, serial number, and date.

possibly a crown M on the bottom of the frame which would be Navy.
